Ceramic Dental Bridge

A dental bridge is a prosthetic device used to replace one or more missing teeth. It’s called a bridge because it spans the gap created by missing teeth. Essentially, it consists of one or more artificial teeth, called pontics, which are anchored to adjacent natural teeth or dental implants on either side of the gap. The adjacent natural teeth, called abutments, are often fitted with dental crowns to provide support for the bridge.

Dr. Pierpont uses dental bridges to help restore your smile, improve your ability to chew and speak properly, maintain the shape of your face, and distribute the forces in your bite properly.

There are different types of dental bridges we offer at Pier Dental, including traditional bridges, cantilever bridges, and Maryland bonded bridges, each suited for different situations depending on the location of the missing teeth and the health of the surrounding teeth and gums.

Complete Dentures

When it comes to full dental dentures, achieving a natural-looking appearance is essential for many people. Here are some factors that Dr. Pierpont masters to achieve a natural-looking denture:

  1. Material Choice: Modern denture materials offer a more natural appearance than older ones. Dr. Pierpont uses local, in state labs which use porcelain or ceramic teeth to fabricate the dentures, as they closely resemble natural teeth in color and translucency.
  2. Tooth Shape and Size: The shape and size of artificial teeth should mimic those of natural teeth. Dr. Pierpont considers factors such as your facial structure, age, gender, and preferences to customize the dentures accordingly.
  3. Gum Color and Texture: The color and texture of the gum portion of the denture should match your natural gum tissue. Denture bases made of acrylic resin can be customized to match the color of your gums. Because Pier Dental uses local labs, we offer the ability for the patient to go to the lab in person to help with shade matching.
  4. Fit and Comfort: Well-fitted dentures not only improve function but also enhance appearance. They should fit snugly and comfortably in your mouth, with no slipping or movement during speaking or eating.
  5. Individualized Design: Each set of dentures should be custom designed for the individual wearer. This involves taking precise measurements, impressions, and bite registrations to ensure a personalized fit and appearance.
  6. Communication: Dr. Pierpont provides extra time with her patients to make sure they are receiving the care and outcomes they deserve. Upon her dental consultation appointment, she wants her patients to discuss their expectations, preferences, and concerns regarding the appearance of their dentures.

Composite Veneer

Composite veneers are a type of dental veneer made chairside from tooth-colored composite resin material. Dr. Pierpont uses them to improve the appearance of teeth by correcting issues such as discoloration, chipping, misalignment, or uneven spacing.

Porcelain Veneer

Porcelain dental veneers are thin shells that are custom-made to fit perfectly over the front surface of a tooth. They are used to improve the appearance of teeth by addressing various cosmetic issues, such as discoloration, staining, chipping, misalignment, or gaps between teeth.

Partial Dentures

Partial dentures are removable dental appliances used to replace one or more missing teeth in a patient’s mouth. Unlike full dentures, which replace all the teeth in an arch, partial dentures are designed to fit around the remaining natural teeth and fill in the gaps where teeth are missing.

Partial dentures offer an effective and affordable solution for replacing missing teeth and restoring oral function and aesthetics. They provide a non-invasive option for patients who are not candidates for dental implants or fixed bridges. Here at Pier Dental, we offer various options for partial dentures from metal to all acrylic / tooth colored partial dentures.

Esthetic Anterior Composite Fillings

Esthetic composite fillings, also known as tooth-colored or white fillings, are dental restorations used to repair cavities or damage to teeth while maintaining a natural appearance. Esthetic composite fillings offer a conservative, natural-looking solution for restoring teeth and preserving smile aesthetics. They provide an excellent alternative to traditional metal fillings for patients who prefer a more discreet and natural-looking restoration.
